Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels Hastings

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that utilize chemical solutions to exfoliate the skin. By removing the top layer, they reveal fresher, smoother skin underneath. These peels address various concerns, such as acne, pigmentation, fine lines, and sun damage.

During the treatment, a carefully selected chemical solution is applied to the skin, causing controlled damage to the outer layer. As the skin heals, it sheds the damaged layer, revealing healthier skin with improved texture and tone. The depth and type of peel vary, allowing customization based on individual needs and desired outcomes. Regular chemical peel sessions can lead to long-lasting improvements in skin appearance and overall complexion.

At La Cara Aesthetics, we begin by scheduling a consultation to assess your skin type, concerns, and goals. Based on the evaluation, we recommend the most suitable skin peel for you. Following your treatment, we provide post-procedure aftercare to ensure optimal results.

Chemical Peel FAQs

Chemical peels involve using acids to exfoliate the skin. The acid removes damaged skin cells uniformly across the treatment area, allowing the skin to heal with minimal scarring or colour changes. These peels can affect two layers of the skin: the epidermis and the dermis.

At La Cara Aesthetics, we exclusively use Mesoestetic chemical peels. These specially formulated peels effectively address hyperpigmentation on the face and body. They fade unwanted excess pigment, control melanocyte activity, and provide visible results with minimal downtime.

The longevity of chemical peel results depends on the peel’s strength:

Light (Superficial) Peel: Results typically last between one and two months.
Medium Peel: Results last between two and six months.
Deep Peel: Results can last for 10 years or longer, often without follow-up treatments.

Regular maintenance with medium peels every 6 to 12 months helps maintain results.

A skin peel isn’t suitable for everyone. We may advise against treatment if you’ve taken oral acne medication (such as isotretinoin) in the past six months or have a personal or family history of keloids (ridged scar tissue). Additionally, we advise against chemical peels during pregnancy.

The downtime after a chemical peel varies based on the peel type:

Light Peel: Healing time is 1 to 7 days. Expect redness initially, followed by scaling lasting 3 to 7 days.
Medium Peel: Healing time is 7 to 14 days. Skin will be red and swollen and may form blisters.
Deep Peel: Healing time is 14 to 21 days. The treated area may be bandaged, and you can expect redness, swelling, and skin healing.
